General Meeting, 3rd Tuesday

March. 18th, 7 PM

at the OV Chamber Hall

Agenda:
1. Moving forward in 2025

April Meeting Sign

Beautification, Safety, & Communication

The Orange County Neighborhood Services Division administers the Safe Neighborhoods Program to help reduce crime through projects that enhance the safety and beauty of each location. Political and social changes are important community issues more related to the Chamber of Commerce.

The Safe Neighborhood Program consists of groups of volunteer residents who help their communities address issues that cause the neighborhood to decline in quality and livability. The volunteer groups do this through community engagement, trainings, physical projects, and by providing a direct line to County resources to resolve problems. An Orange County liaison supports the groups of volunteers and administers funding applications for projects, but the work of the Safe Neighborhood Groups is driven by the people within the community.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  • Authorized under state statutes and local ordinances.
  • Funded through court fines (not taxes).
  • Designated area boundaries approved by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners.

HOW IT WORKS

- The program provides access to funds for safety, communication, and beautification projects that meet program criteria.

- Groups provide a voice for the community and connect citizens to information and resources.

- Action Plans and a Leadership Board of resident volunteers guide projects and activities.

- Community meetings are held at least quarterly.
